ABOUT IMMIX ELEVEN

It all started as a hobby; Jeremy Jones, a marine trained electrician, decided to build his own amplifier. Having a lot of training in electrical design and theory, Jeremy was use to crafting his own instruments and working with audio equipment. Interested in classically designed tube amplifiers, he built his first amp based loosely off an AC-30. The tone was there; That wonderful clean head room, British crunch, and chimey highs were all present in his first amplifier. He then presented long time friend and fellow musician, Michael Bates with his amplifier. Right away Michael knew there was something special about the tone and began to design a vintage style cabinet to house the amplifier. Shortly after their first build, they began showing them to friends and fellow musicians who quickly became interested. Orders began coming in and a business was born. Since then Immix Eleven has been working hard to design beautifully crafted amplifiers, inspired by the old tube amps of the past, yet built around a belief that a well built amplifier should be as beautiful to the eyes as it is to the ears.

Immix Eleven custom amplifiers are all hand built and hand wired with some of the best materials and components available. We pride ourselves in what we do, from the way our amps look to the way they sound. We believe that once you hear, see and feel what our amps produce, you will understand our passion.

 

HEART DRIVEN.

We believe that we were put on this earth to help improve it. To leave a legacy of help and hope. In the summer of 2011 Immix Eleven partnered with an organization out of Nashville, TN called eXile International. This organization does some amazing work in Africa. Exile provides trauma care to war-affected children and former child soldiers in Congo and Eastern Africa through art and expressive therapy.  Out of this relationship was birthed the Immix Eleven ‘HOPE’ amplifier. 

 

WHAT'S IN A NAME? 

Immix Eleven – pronounced: (ih-miks)

When Jeremy and Michael started building amplifiers it was very apparent that these amplifiers were being built with some great qualities from both old traditional hand wired techniques as well as modern touches, such as the LED Colour Wheel™.

When coming up with a name for their new brand the guys wanted a name that represented the mixture of old and new. Immix is a Middle English word which means: “Things that mix or blend well together.” This was exactly how the guys envisioned their product. In addition, incorporating a Middle English word was a perfect way for the guys to pay homage to Jeremy’s roots. Jeremy’s family came to the US from England and has had a great impact on Jeremy’s upbringing. This is also the reason they chose to use the English version of Colour vs. Color in our LED Colour Wheel™.

The word Eleven was added to remind the guys of the grass roots years. Since most rating scales go from 1-10, as do most amp volumes; Michael and Jeremy knew that they wanted to create amplifiers that took their tone and look to a new level. In addition, the company was officially formed in early Spring of 2011. The word eleven was a perfect fit for the second part of the name.
